San Fran to Frankfurt to Dubai to Ahmedabad (India) to Cairo and back. Dubai is notorious for construction projects. In my short walk from the metro to the mall, I saw many! The paper butterflies of Dubai Mall's Fashion Avenue. Mopeds are a popular form of transportation here, for men and women alike. Staring deep into Ahmedabad. These "tricked-out tricycles," known here as rickshaws, are the taxis of Gujrat. Even her feet were henna'd up. The video turned out quite well. After spending a couple days in this room, marro pug-no-punjo sarrochay (my foot is better), and I was snapping photographs once again! The groom's parents performed a ritual in which red paint was applied to the mens' foreheads. After eating dinner, everyone grabbed a pair of sticks and the Ross dance ensued. Even I took a moment to go ham. And the night ended with a slow dance. Tomorrow, the wedding! The entryway to the wedding was very colorful. As the youngsters went dumb, the older folk chilled on the side and talked the talk. Since India has no prohibition on fireworks, I was only feet away. As the groom became proximate to the venue, a final bout of 10,000 firecrackers were detonated in front of me on the street. Congrats Namrata & Dipen, you're finally married. Before my flight from Cairo to Dubai, I took photos of the skyline during sunrise from the side of my aunt's balcony that faces east. Stormy weather one afternoon in Cairo. Cairo's red sun on the west-facing side of my aunt's balcony. My cousin's bathroom also has this extremely sexy window right above the bathtub. On the dining room table, a flattering shot of my aunt and an unflattering shot of my uncle Ahmed. When in the land of my ancestors, I dress like a native. In the pictured alleyway, my father would run and play with his friends when he was a child.
