We arrived on BART.
San Fran to Frankfurt to Dubai to Ahmedabad (India) to Cairo and back.
After only a night in Cairo, I was off to see Dubai.
This was the first thing I saw out of the plane.
Dubai is notorious for construction projects. In my short walk from the metro to the mall, I saw many!
The paper butterflies of Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue.
Mopeds are a popular form of transportation here, for men and women alike.
Staring deep into Ahmedabad.
These “tricked-out tricycles,” known here as rickshaws, are the taxis of Gujrat.
Even her feet were henna’d up.
The video turned out quite well.
After spending a couple days in this room, marro pug-no-punjo sarrochay (my foot is better), and I was snapping photographs once again!
The groom’s parents performed a ritual in which red paint was applied to the mens’ foreheads.
After eating dinner, everyone grabbed a pair of sticks and the Ross dance ensued.
Even I took a moment to go ham.
And the night ended with a slow dance. Tomorrow, the wedding!

Since India has no prohibition on fireworks, I was only feet away.
As the groom became proximate to the venue, a final bout of 10,000 firecrackers were detonated in front of me on the street.
